Denver Union Station is changing history
Denver Union Station (DUS) is a unique project that will bring together many different transportation modes along with new private development to create a truly special place in Denver that connects the city, region and state in one central location.
DUS is part of RTD’s voter-approved FasTracks transit program to expand rail and bus service throughout the RTD service area. FasTracks will build 122 miles of rail transit including six new commuter rail and light rail lines and extensions of three existing lines; build 18 miles of bus rapid transit service, add 21,000 new parking spaces, redevelop Denver Union Station and redirect bus service to better connect the eight-county District. FasTracks is projected to create more than 10,000 jobs during the height of construction, and will pump billions of dollars into the regional economy.
As the hub of RTD’s FasTracks program, the redevelopment of DUS is a crucial component to the program’s overall success. Given the wide-range of activities occurring simultaneously at the site, communications efforts must be coordinated and delivered to various audiences in an integrated manner. As such, the DUSPA will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all media and public information tasks relating to DUS.
