Funding Sources

The estimated project costs for the Build Alternative is approximately $477 million*. The hard costs are estimated to be $349 million* and the allowances are estimated to be $128 million*. Approximately, $274 million will be funded by RTD’s FasTracks program, SB-1, Federal Highways Administration, and Federal Transit Administration. $186 million will be funded by TIF, Met District, and Development rights. Other potential sources will contribute approximately $20 million.

FasTracks is RTD's 12-year comprehensive plan and funding program to improve and expand the Denver region's existing transit system and facilities. The FasTracks funding source is a 0.04% sales tax increase and was approved in November 2004 by the region's voters.
